THE BIGGLES BOOKS W. E. Johns most famous character was ‘Biggles’ (James
Bigglesworth) who first appeared in the April 1932 (published March 1932) issue of
“Popular Flying” in a short story called “The White Fokker” When Johns died in June 1968, he left behind the manuscripts for
four complete books which were published up until July 1970. His last unfinished novel “Biggles Does
Some Homework” was published in February 1998. There was then a final collection of previously unpublished short
stories featuring Biggles, called “Biggles Air Ace: The Uncollected Stories”
